It is very stormy weather today. One can hardly see that from the clouds, though.
Squatting continues, the red signs says. What with the coming abdiction of the queen in favor of her son, reminded me of the situation 33 years ago when my generation stormed the barricades on abdication-day, shouting “Geen woning, no kroning”, “No house, no coronation”. Squatting may continue as the sign reads, but society has completed changed since those days.
The fun part of donating blood is afterwards when you get a cup of tea or coffee. And with the tea and coffee there is an assortment of breadrolls, biscuits and cakes. I didn’t have this roze koek but I could feel the taste of it in my mouth. Yummy.
This reminded me of school which was not 500 meters from the place where I ate this. The concierge sold the exact same speculoos biscuits. Well, not exactly the same. In those days they were bigger. Or I was smaller. It’s all relative.
I would call this Knäckebröd and I understand in English one calls it just crisp bread. This specimen has a load of seeds which might give the impression that it is healthy.
I am having trouble getting the update to this Garmin map. I bought it online and that gave me a key which unlocks the update webpage. It’s not the Icelandic on the page (af því að ég skil íslensku). It’s that my Garmin go through the procedure and then nothing happens. Not what?
It took me half a year to watch all of this episode of Zomergasten with Adriaan van Dis. The other episodes of this 3-hour show took me, like, 10 minutes each. This one was really interesting and I have watched every minute in bits and pieces of maybe 20 minutes at a time, and weeks between them.
The snow still thick on what will be the last day for now with snow. It’ll start melting tonight.
