Today, the Buddha is at the beach. On the beach.
It did remind me a bit of the Vigeland Park in Oslo where I was in 1982. I wore my contact lenses for the first time on this holiday and the sunlight was so strong on the white marble that my eyes got so irritated that I couldn’t wear my lenses for a few days. Either that or the sight of Nick Cave and Lydia Lunch at the Munch-museet the day before did my eyes in. I got so excited seeing them and there was nobody to share it with.
The first time ever that we took a holiday as a family must have been around 1967 or 1968. We went to Petten, which was only like 20 kilometers away. We swam in the sea and my father came towards me pretending to be a shark or some big fish. It scared the hell out of me and I needed to get out of the water. Heavy traumas can come unexpected. 🙂
