Louis Couperus was a famous writer from a pre-previous century. I remember how I loved to read his books when I was in school. There seemed to be much time available for reading thick and old books.
There were many pictures to be made this afternoon on our way to the shops. This is the one I picked as #pictureoftheday. The reflection of the houses is slightly unsharp because the toplayer is ice and not water.
Heerde is full of mayors. The one named on this stone is called Baron d’Aulnis de Bourouill. The date is August 1, 1897.
This old town has many interesting features. I like the sundial on the shadow side of the house.

After my student days this was the first house I moved into: Kleine Bergstraat 41. I was with Hanneke in those days. Nothing much has changed in the street.
