It’s like a scene from 2001, A Space Odyssey, when major Bowman goes through the intergalactic, uh, well, I dunno, whatever it is he goes through, and he sees all these stars and explosions. And hippies thought it was a celebration of an LSD trip. Which I doubt because Kubrik was a total control freak and not a very likely candidate for popping LSD.

The first time ever that I saw Kerið was on the way to Skálholt with Keli, Þorkell, kelipeli. We didn’t much want to go so Keli saw an opportunity to stall by showing me Kerið. Little did I know that 13 or 14 years later I would show Kerið again in wintery conditions. I love the green ice and the red clay.
