Big Battenbergs?

Did you know these are called Big Battenbergs? I had no idea, your honour. Battenberg is the original name of Mountbatten. Germans who anglicised their name during the War. Just as the Windsors are really from the Haus Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha.

Battenberg is also a town in central Germany where a light sponge cake covered in marzipan and built from a two-by-two check pattern alternately coloured pink and yellow originates from.
